Classical street musicians at Place Collette. In the background the public art installation of 2000, celebrating the centennial of the Paris Metro (it’s an entrance to the Palais Royal-Musee du Louvre station). The artist was Jean-Michel Othoniel.The title translates to Kiosk of the Nightwalkers.

Trompe d'oeil trellis. Yes, this is flat on the wall. There a number of these around Paris, all by the same artist, I believe, and just as amazing as it looks here.

quantity of butter served for one at lunch. I suppose it was about 5 pounds set on my table. Of course, this is not America and the butter was not discarded when I left most of it, but I still found it pretty astounding.

    lovely! We’ve been to many of those sites and remember them fondly. Several Metro stations were closed when we were there several years ago. It’s amazing to see what they became! Heal well Sandy so you walk those streets again and again!
